Alumni Biography: Jennifer Torry
Jennifer Torry graduated from St. John Brebeuf in 2009 and is now playing Women’s soccer for the Lamar Cardinals of the NCAA. She was a three-time team MVP and and captained the team for her final two years. Through her leadership and talent, she helped St. John Brebeuf to two bronze medal performances at the B.C. Provincial Championship. In 2008 and 2009, Jennifer was selected to the Province’s All-Star team. Beyond soccer, Jennifer represented the school two years in a row at the B.C. Provincial Championships for cross country. In her final two years at the school, Jennifer was selected as the school’s Athlete of the Year. Jennifer’s contributions to the school extend beyond soccer as she was on the Honor Role for all five years and was an active member of the school’s Campus Ministry program. Jennifer was awarded for her contributions by winning many Academic awards. She is attending Lamar on a Mirabeau Scholarship and her Academic honors include the 2008 Excellence in Math Award and being selected for the 2007 Imperial Oil Seminar in computer science. As a member of St. Nicholas’s Parish in Langley, Jennifer is Majoring in English and intends to become a teacher.
