Friday, May 26 the grades 9 and 12 Religion classes will be travelling to the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery to complete a class service project. Two SJB staff will supervise the students while they are on the field trip. At the cemetery we will be praying for the dead and cleaning headstones and weeding the grounds. On the way back to the school we will stop at McDonald’s where the students may purchase their lunch if they wish. The purpose of this day is not only to perform a service but also to learn about Catholic burial customs and the importance of reverence for the body, even after death. Students are asked to dress in appropriate coloured clothing, in keeping with the school’s philosophy. Please ensure that students are dressed for the weather as we will be going even if it is rainy. Please review the following information and fill out the appropriate forms to allow your son/daughter to travel with us. The first 45 students who bring in their permission forms will be allowed to go on the trip.
