Campus Ministry News
With thankful hearts we realize that February has arrived and while it is still very cold with snow in the forecast, we are eagerly looking forward to Spring and the new life that brings. January’s exams are over, the new semester has begun, and the annual Big Bear Classic is upon us. We thank God for the successes of the first half of the year and pray to Him for grace to guide us during the second semester.
There are several events which we are preparing for. February 16 is our annual Open House and we hope that many of you will be able to come out, especially if you have children who will be in grade 8 this coming September. On February 23, Father Rodney Nootebos, the Vocations director for the RCAV, will be in Abbotsford to say a special Mass for the grades 10 and 11 students. The Mass will begin at 11:30 a.m. at St. James parish church. That same evening, beginning at 4 p.m., we will be hosting a Girls’ Faith evening. This is especially for grades 10-12 girls. The evening will include dinner, some “girl talk,” and a lot of fun! Our next retreat, for grade 9’s, will be on March 3 at Camp Luther in Mission. Students have already received their permission forms and are encouraged to bring them back to the school as soon as possible. Our next school Mass will be celebrated on March 1, Ash Wednesday, at St. James Parish Church. Mass will begin at 11:30. Parents are welcome to join us.
Father Ajin is back from his trip to visit his family in India. Beginning next week, he will once again be coming into the school on Thursdays. We are truly blessed by his priestly presence in our school. Thank you for your continued support of Campus Ministry.
