GR 12 RETREAT
STILLWOOD CONSENT FORM
Campus Ministry News for April
Welcome back to all our students; we hope you had a restful and wonderful spring break. Over the last month we have had many opportunities to both celebrate our faith and reflect on our individual progress this Lenten season. Father Lawrence Donnelly was the main celebrant for the Ash Wednesday school Mass on March 1st. Stations of the Cross continue to be prayed on Wednesdays at lunch in the chapel throughout Lent. The grade 9’s spent a retreat day at Camp Luther where they learned more about the role of the Holy Spirit and the power of prayer. We thank all the grade 12 Alpha leaders who helped on this retreat. On Friday, March 10, our last colour day, the school raised $420, which will be donated to Ruth and Naomi’s Mission, a soup kitchen in Chilliwack. This is enough money to pay for dinner for approximately 240 people. During the last week of March, Fr. Rodney Nootebos, from the Vocations Office, visited classes with the important message of asking God to guide them in their future vocations, whether to marriage, religious life, the priesthood, or single life. The guiding question was: “What is important, is what will you do with the time you have been given?” The sacrament of Reconciliation was made available to all students on Thursday, March 30. Thank you to the priests who made this sacrament available for the students.
This month we look forward to Spring ushering in our highest celebration of the year, Easter! On Thursday, April 20 we hope you can join us to celebrate our Easter Mass with Arch Bishop Michael Miller; Mass begins at 11:30. We will celebrate Holy Thursday on April 13 with student led Stations of the Cross and a school wide assembly. On Tuesday, April 18, LIfeteen leaders will continue their monthly lunchtime visits to SJB, leading Praise and Worship in the chapel.
We wish you and your family a blessed and joyful Easter,
Cindy Kuester, Alan Ferguson, and Sarah Gillespie
