The Religion Department would like to invite any interested students, and their family members, to participate in a pilgrimage taking place on Friday, April 12th. The purpose of this pilgrimage is to make a journey of prayer and to take part in a deeply significant tradition of the Church. We will begin our walk at St. Joseph’s Parish Church, Mission. We will meet for a short talk by our chaplain, Father Mark McGuckin, some music, and prayer. We will pilgrimage together to Heritage Park, where we will spend time at the Oblate Cemetery and the Grotto. After a short rest and snack, we will proceed to Westminster Abbey via Pilgrim’s Way. Once we arrive at the Abbey, we will rest, attend Vespers and break bread together. The monks are generously allowing us to use their guest dining room.
The pilgrimage can be offered up for specific intentions, or may simply be an offering to God. Families are welcome to participate as well. During our last week of the Lenten season, this will be a wonderful opportunity to do prayer and penance in preparation for Easter. If you are interested in participating, please talk to any of the Religion teachers. Permission forms will be available after Spring Break both on the website and from the Religion teachers.
